The 15 g Organic Basil by La Caravane des Épices is organically grown and certified under IFS and Ecocert standards. Packaged in France, this product is made entirely from natural ingredients. It is believed that basil was first cultivated in India four thousand years ago. As it was considered a sacred herb, basil was offered to the deities Vishnu and Krishna. It then became popular in Asia and Egypt, where it was used in the mummification process, after it was discovered to have antibacterial and conservation properties.
